The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) monitors and analyses global food and agricultural production and related issues such as global food prices.
The overall purpose of FAO's work is to make global food systems more sustainable in order to fulfil the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Through technical support, research and training, FAO works with countries and development agencies to ensure greater efficiency in the production and distribution of food and agricultural products to improve the livelihoods of rural populations, raise nutrition levels and eradicate global hunger.
